Installing & Activating Meztezz: A Complete Walkthrough
This guide will get you from “I just heard about Meztezz” to “we’re taking orders” in under 30 minutes. We’ll cover everything: where to download it, how to install it on Windows or Mac, and the two ways to activate it — connecting it to your cloud account, or starting your free 15-day trial without an account.
No technical knowledge required. If you can install a regular app, you can do this.
Part 1: Downloading Meztezz
Where to download
Open your web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari — whichever you prefer) and visit:
You’ll see a few download cards — two for desktop computers (Windows and macOS), plus a separate one for the Captain App (an Android companion for your waiters, covered in its own guide). To install the POS, click the button under Windows or macOS — whichever computer you’re setting up on.
Which version do I need?
- Windows users: Most modern computers are 64-bit, so the big green “Download 64-bit” button is the right choice. If your computer is older (we’re talking 10+ years), use the 32-bit option instead. If you’re not sure, just try 64-bit first.
- Mac users: There’s a single
.dmgdownload — just click the “Download for macOS” button.
System requirements
Make sure your computer meets these basics:
- Windows: Windows 10 or newer
- Mac: macOS 12 Monterey or newer
- Memory: At least 4 GB of RAM
- Storage: 200 MB of free disk space
Most computers sold in the last 5–6 years comfortably meet these requirements.
Part 2: Installing on Windows
-
Once the download finishes, open your Downloads folder and double-click the file (it ends in
.exe). -
Windows might show a blue warning screen that says “Windows protected your PC” — this is normal for newer apps that haven’t yet built up a long reputation with Microsoft. To proceed:
- Click the small “More info” link
- Then click the “Run anyway” button that appears
-
The Meztezz installer will open. Click “Next” through the prompts. You can change the install location if you want, but the default is fine for most people.
-
Click “Install” and wait a minute or two while it copies the files.
-
Once it’s done, click “Finish”. You’ll find Meztezz in your Start menu — just search for “Meztezz” and click it.
Part 3: Installing on Mac
-
Open your Downloads folder and double-click the file (it ends in
.dmg). A window will open showing the Meztezz icon. -
Drag the Meztezz icon into the Applications folder shown in the same window.
-
Open Applications (in Finder, click Go → Applications) and find Meztezz.
-
The very first time you open it, your Mac may show a security warning saying “Meztezz can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.” This is normal. To get past it:
- Right-click (or hold Control and click) the Meztezz icon
- Choose “Open” from the menu
- A new dialog will appear with an “Open” button — click it
- You only need to do this once. From now on, just double-click like any other app.
Part 4: Activating Meztezz
When Meztezz starts for the first time, you have two choices:
| Option | Best for |
|---|---|
| A. Free 15-day Trial | Trying out Meztezz before subscribing, or running it for a short period without a cloud account |
| B. Link to Your Cloud Account | You’ve already subscribed at app.meztezz.com and want to start syncing your data right away |
You don’t have to decide everything upfront — you can start with the trial and link to the cloud anytime later.
Option A: Start the 15-day Free Trial (the easy way)
Good news: there’s nothing to click. The moment you open Meztezz for the first time, you’ll see a screen that says “Starting your 15-day free trial…” and you’re in. No account, no credit card, no setup code needed.
What you get during the trial:
- The complete Meztezz POS — billing, kitchen tickets, inventory, GST, reports, captain app, the works
- Every feature is unlocked — no “premium” or “pro” lock-outs during the trial
- All your data stays safely on your computer
What happens on day 16?
If you haven’t subscribed by the time the 15 days are up, the system shows a friendly “Trial Expired” screen and goes into read-only mode — you can still see all your past data, but you can’t take new orders until you do one of these:
- Subscribe on the cloud at app.meztezz.com, get your Terminal Setup Code, and paste it into the screen (see Option B below)
- Enter a renewal code — if our support team sent you one, type it in on the same screen
A warning banner appears a few days before the trial ends, so you won’t be caught off guard.
Option B: Link to Your Cloud Account (the recommended way)
This path connects your POS to app.meztezz.com so your sales, stock, and reports automatically back up to the cloud — and you can monitor your restaurant from any phone or laptop. It’s three steps: register → grab the code → paste it into the POS.
Step B1: Register your restaurant (new customers only)
If you’ve never used Meztezz before, you’ll need to create a free account first. This only takes about a minute.
-
In your browser, go to https://app.meztezz.com/register
-
Fill in the “Create Account” form:
Field What to enter Example Restaurant Name The name of your business as you’d like it printed on bills Spice GardenOwner Name The full name of the primary owner / signing authority Ramesh KumarEmail A working email — you’ll get a verification link here ramesh@spicegarden.inPhone Number Your 10-digit Indian mobile number, starting with 6, 7, 8, or 9 (no +91, no spaces)9876543210Password At least 8 characters, with at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one digit — GSTIN (optional) Your 15-character GST number, if you have one. You can add it later under Settings 22AAAAA0000A1Z5 -
Click the “Create Account” button at the bottom of the form.
-
You’ll see a “Check your email” message. Open your inbox (and check the spam folder if you don’t see it), find the email from Meztezz, and click the verification link inside it.
-
Once verified, you’ll be redirected to the Sign In page. Log in with the email and password you just set up.
💡 Already have an account? Skip this step and head straight to https://app.meztezz.com/login.
❗ Didn’t get the verification email? On the “Check your email” screen there’s a “Resend verification email” button. Click it once and wait a minute. If it still doesn’t arrive, drop us a line at bazimat@gmail.com.
Step B2: Find your Terminal Setup Code on the cloud dashboard
Once you’re logged in, you’ll land on the dashboard home page. To get to your setup code:
-
Look at the sidebar on the left. Among the menu items (Dashboard, Reports, Inventory, etc.), find and click “Outlets” — it has a small store icon next to it.
(On a small screen, open the dashboard’s navigation menu to find the same link.)
-
The Outlets page opens. You’ll see a card for each location of your business. A first outlet (called “Main Outlet”) is created automatically when you sign up, so even a brand-new account will already have one card.
-
On the outlet card, you’ll see — from top to bottom — the outlet’s name, address, phone, GSTIN (address, phone and GSTIN appear once you’ve filled them in, so a brand-new outlet may show just the name), and at the very bottom a section clearly labelled “Terminal Setup Code”.
-
Inside a grey box, the code is shown in large monospace text, something like:
MEZTEZZ-AB2C-D4EF-GH9KIt’s exactly 12 letters and numbers, split into 3 groups by dashes, prefixed with the word
MEZTEZZ-. Easy to type, hard to confuse. -
To the right of the code there are two small icons:
- 📋 Copy — click this to copy the code to your clipboard. A small “Setup code copied” toast appears at the bottom of the screen.
- 🔄 Regenerate — don’t click this now (it’ll create a new code and break any device already paired). Only use it later if you need a fresh code.
-
Keep this browser tab open, or paste the code into a notes app on your phone — you’ll need it on your POS computer in a minute.
💡 Have more than one outlet? Each outlet has its own setup code. Use the code from the card matching the location where you’re installing the POS — don’t mix them up.
💡 Need to add another outlet? Click the ”+ Add Outlet” button at the top-right of the Outlets page, fill in the new outlet’s name, address, phone, and GSTIN (GSTIN is optional), and click “Create”. The success dialog shows an API key — close it, and the new outlet’s card will appear in the list with its own Terminal Setup Code ready to copy.
Step B3: Enter the code on your POS computer
When Meztezz opens for the first time, the trial activates automatically (Option A above). To switch from trial to a real cloud link, go to:
Settings (gear icon) → License → Cloud Link
In that section:
- Paste the Terminal Setup Code into the box marked “MEZTEZZ-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX”
- Leave the API URL field as it is (it’s already set correctly)
- Click the “Link to Cloud” button
Within a few seconds, you’ll see a green “Terminal is linked to cloud. Subscription syncs automatically.” message. That’s it — you’re connected.
From now on, every order, payment, and stock change quietly uploads to the cloud whenever your internet is working. If the internet goes down, no problem — the POS keeps running and catches up when it comes back online.
What if I already let the trial expire?
That’s fine. On the “Trial Expired” screen, click the “Link to Cloud Account” button. The same code-entry box appears. Paste your Terminal Setup Code, click “Link & Sync”, and your terminal comes back to life — with all your trial data preserved and now backed up to the cloud.
Part 5: Need to Regenerate the Setup Code?
If you ever need a fresh code — for example, you’re moving the POS to a new computer and want to start clean — head back to app.meztezz.com → Outlets, click the refresh icon (🔄) next to the Terminal Setup Code, and confirm.
⚠️ Important: The old code stops working immediately. Any POS that was already linked keeps working as long as it stays linked — but if you ever uninstall and reinstall, you’ll need the new code.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need internet to install or use Meztezz? You need internet to download the installer and (if you choose) to link it to the cloud. Once installed, Meztezz runs 100% offline — billing, kitchen tickets, captain app, reports — everything works on your local Wi-Fi.
What if the Terminal Setup Code doesn’t work? Double-check that you’ve copied the whole code including all three groups of letters and numbers. Make sure you’re connected to the internet when you click “Link to Cloud” (this one step does need internet). If it still doesn’t work, regenerate the code on the dashboard and try the new one.
Can I install Meztezz on more than one computer? Yes — your subscription plan determines how many billing terminals you can run per outlet. The Starter plan includes 1 terminal and Professional includes 5; for higher limits, get in touch about our Enterprise plan. Here’s how it fits together: the Terminal Setup Code links one primary POS computer to the cloud. Any additional billing terminals don’t use the setup code at all — they connect to that primary computer over your local network, and the primary handles the cloud sync for everyone. If you reach your plan’s terminal limit, adding another terminal is blocked with an “upgrade your plan” message — no existing terminal is removed. So make sure your plan covers the number of devices you actually need.
What happens to my trial data when I link to the cloud? Nothing is lost. Your existing orders, menu, and settings stay on the terminal and start syncing up to the cloud as soon as you link. Future devices linked to the same outlet can even pull this data down.
Can I switch from one outlet’s code to another? Each terminal is paired with one outlet at a time. If you need to move a terminal to a different outlet, please contact support — we’ll walk you through it safely.
